You'd find it hard to beat the view that awaits you as you open the door and look out of your window, it is truly stunning! Lake views that are picture perfect! The rooms are huge with lovely old furniture and comfortable beds. The food is delicious, decent portion sizes and good prices. Evening meals were really relaxed but it felt a little rushed at breakfast time. The staff are wonderful, so friendly and have amazing customer service. This was our second stay here, its a place where you can just switch off and enjoy the truly beautiful surroundings. If you want to relax, eat good food, drink good wine and lose yourself in the beautiful surroundings, this is the place to go.

Let’s start with the things we loved: 1. The view is absolutely stunning. 2. The staff were really polite and efficient. 3. The evening meal was delicious. 4. The tea tray in the room was well stocked. 5. Drinks are very reasonably priced and there is a great wine choice. It went horribly wrong because of the following things: 1. The room wasn’t really clean, there were a lot of cobwebs and stains on soft furnishings. 2. There were multiple flies on arrival because the room windows had been left open. We discovered lots of flies in the bar and ladies toilets too and around the hotel. It seems there is a problem with them. 3. The room smelt of cooking as it was just above the very noisy kitchen extraction system which went throughout the night and kept us awake. (I wouldn’t recommend room 9 or 10 as they are both above this area) 4. It was like a sauna in the bedroom with no fan or air-con. We daren’t open the windows for fear of letting in more flies. 5. Although the tea tray looked great, the room had no kettle so we couldn’t enjoy a drink in bed in the morning. 6.Toiletries in the room were basic - combined shampoo/body wash and NO conditioner - disappointing really for a pricey spa hotel! 7. The toilet seat didn’t go with the toilet and didn’t work properly - You had to hold it up to be able to sit down. 8. There was no EV charger just a 3 pin plug and no adaptor - very outdated! Such a shame as this could have been a great hotel to visit! Feel very sorry for the staff as they are really lovely!

We are three ladies who stayed here for one night recently. We were very impressed with the location. The restaurant overlooks Lake Vernwy, which was stunning, both in the evening and at breakfast. It immediately gave you the " feel good factor" ( as well as the food being amazing)! A triple room was excellent value for money and staff were very welcoming, friendly and efficient. Highly recommend!

Spectacular location and pleasant staff. Meals were expensive but drinks were reasonable at the attached Tavern. It is a Spa hotel. However, there is no full-size swimming pool, and the Gym is quite frankly a joke. The whole establishment would benefit from the installation of air-con.

There are two things I’ll always remember about my stay. The first is the view of the eponymous lake from the bar decking area - we watched the Sun go down with a sense of awe. Sadly the second memory was less happy - a plague of flies about which none of the staff seemed to be bothered. Really unpleasant. The building is a faded glory - I guess glorious in its heyday but in dire need of a refurb. Tired is a cliche but an apt one here. The staff were pleasant- can’t fault the service other than the already mentioned lack of attention to the flying intruders. Food was pretty average- a small portion of overcooked scallops swimming in a sea of pea puree followed by the least tender piece of beef fillet I’ve ever encountered. Must say that my companions were more complimentary than me about their meal. With a bit of investment this place could be awesome - I hope that occurs soon.

We recently spent 3 nights at Lake Vyrnwy. Lovely remote location and all the staff could not have been friendlier - particularly Amy on breakfast. The rooms are now quite dated and you can find some cobwebs in the bedrooms/bathrooms. The spa could also use an upgrade as the hot tub was a bit dirty. Overall, the people made the stay a very enjoyable one. Thank you all.

Beautiful location, staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. Loved staying her for three nights. Decor a little bit tired but traditional and well kept. Can't recommend highly enough. Even got to see RAF jets coming in over the lake. Dining and breakfast staff were particularly helpful. cheerful and made us feel very welcome. Bar staff equally lovely. Just made us love the Welsh people more.

Not long back from a two night relaxing stay at Lake Vyrnwy. Admittedly our experience was enhanced by beautiful weather which only added to the amazing view of the Lake, but the friendly and professional team of staff made our time at the hotel even better. The hotel's rooms are dated, but very much in keeping with the style of the hotel. They were clean and spacious. The food was extremely good and beautifully served. The only minor criticism is the lack of toiletries - all rooms and public areas had a generic soap/body wash pump with no additional toiletries available. Would take our own in the future. Would definitely return if in the area.
